バウハウスの理想にインスパイアされたデザイン

1926年、バウハウスの生みの親であるヴァルター・グロピウスやルートヴィヒ・ミース・ファン・デル・ローエら、一流の建築家たちが「デア・リング（指輪）」という団体を設立しました。それと同時にミース・ファン・デル・ローエは、フレキシブルなカンチレバー構造の椅子を初めてデザイン。後にファン・デル・ローエは、少し筆を走らせるだけで、いとも簡単にこのデザインを生み出したといわれています。このバウハウスのムーブメントから生まれた作品からインスピレーションを受け、テンションリングの新作が生まれました。
